I lived in Nottingham for 20-something years, and it’s only now that I have left I realise how great a City it is.

There are loads of good reasons to visit Nottingham- The history and the culture being one of them, something that I guess when you’re a local you may take for granted, as I did, because how often do you check out the Robin Hood statue when you live near it? Nottingham Castle sits proudly in the city centre, whilst Sherwood Forest is a little drive out. Wollaton Hall is located in…well, Wollaton. Duh. All of which are great days out and are things that people of any age can enjoy. The music scene in Nottingham is renowned for, wherever I go, I will meet at least one person that has been to a gig at Rock City. It’s becoming known for its university culture, every year students flock to the City and paint the streets in their colourful costumes for nights out in all of the bars and pubs – on week days no less.

There’s plenty of independent trade in Nottingham, from clothing stores to amazing cafes and restaurants, Notts is a hugely supportive community, where each of the business owners know and support each other and help this City thrive.
